Well Done!

Hello Y10
I just want to say how very impressed I, and Mrs Dolan, have been at the way you have approached your Spoken Language study and the range of pressures that have been on you this year. Well done.

You have also matured over the year and are ready for the challenges of Y11. You will not believe how quickly this time next year will come around!

I am very much looking forward to teaching you next academic year. You do deserve a lovely holiday - I hope you all enjoy the break.

READ! (reading list is being made at the moment)

Best wishes,
Ms Caldwell

  1. of mice and men homework.
1.steinbecks first descriptions of lenny are that he has the mind of a child but the body and appearence of a huge man. the author describes them both with animalistic features throughout the book.
2.the hints in the opening dialogue to tell us about george and lennys realtionship are when george says to lenny to not drink from the river because its bad for him but lenny completely ignores him and keeps going. this shows us that george looks out for lenny like a older brother would.
    3. the significance of the dead mouse shows us that lenny is so big and strong he does not realize it. when he pats the mouse, he does it so hard unintencionally that he kills it.
4.when george states he would be better of without lenny i think hes lying. they both get something if they are together. lenny gets someone to care for him and to get him a job. and george gets someone to do the hard work so he can make money as lenny is a extremely good worker.
5.i think george asks lenny to familiarise himself with the location of where they spent the night beczuse so if something goes wrong with lenny then he can go and hide in this place and wait for george to meet him as lenny is not the smartest button on a jacket or brightest bulb in the lamp and hes a few slices short of a loaf.
